The Challenger also is equipped with a Thermoformable "Perfect Fit" Liner with plush fleece lining for added warmth and cozy-ness. Adaptive Fit Last 99-101mm:
Head's newest boot technology is called Adaptive Fit. The Adaptive Fit boots essentially have two lasts, one at 99mm and one at 101mm, and all it requires is the turn of a screw.
Macro adjust ladder: The tooth plate opposite the top buckles can be moved in or out for a huge range of adjustment, and to fit narrow to wide lower legs.
Spine-Tech Buckles:
The Spine-Tech buckle features a closure point that stays in place (it looks like a spinal cord). It increases overlap in the shell flaps which brings the boot closer to your leg and reduces pressure points that are usually caused with traditional buckles.
SoftWalk heel: The heel lug of this boot has a strategic injection of rubber that makes walking around more natural and less like Dr. Frankenstein's monster, while not affecting the boots performance on the slopes.
Tongue Pull:
A loop of fabric at the top of the tongue helps in putting on and removing the boots. Pull it forward and to the side and your foot should slide right in.
Perfect Fit Liner:
Perfect Fit is the revolutionary customization system that provides the best level of precision, comfort and durability. The Perfect Fit material allows the liner to adapt to your feet, ensuring maximum power transmission. 5 Minutes of heating is all that's required, or you can simply ski in the boot and it will mold over time.
40mm strap: Super wide strap found on high performance boots. The extra width spreads out the force while skiing and reduces the pressure point on the upper shin.
Soft Walk Heel:
A rubber insert in the heel cushions while walking to get better grip and a more comfortable stride.
Replaceable Toe and Heel Pads:
This is a must-have for skiers that don't live in ski in/ski out condos. When your ski tech tells you that you have to buy new boots because the soles are worn down too much, just laugh at him and tell him to order you a new set of sole plates.
Flip Ski Walk:
A flip lever at the back spine of the boot has a toggle to switch from Ski or Walk mode. Try to keep it in ski mode while skiing, or it might feel a little funny skiing in the back-seat like its nobody's business! This does make walking around the resort looking for the bar or the kids a little more comfortable.
110 Flex Rating:
This boot is too stiff for beginners, and would be a very aggressive fit for intermediates. 110 flex is going to be a stiff and performance oriented shell that is recommend for advanced/expert skiers who need a very responsive boot.
Double Canting: Two adjustment bolts, one each side of the ankle, allow for maximum adjustment for leg/knee alignment problems. The canting helps the skis stay flat on the ground while you are still bow-legged or knock-kneed.
